The Epistemic Sense of Objectivity

In the epistemic sense to be objective means to adhere to the object--the object of cognition, namely reality--in coming to conclusions. In other words, objectivity means being guided by existence in a given thought process as against the arbitrary content of ones consciousness, which would be subjective.
