Economics

Economics is the the study of human action applied to exchange. In other words, “Economics is the science which studies human behavior as a relationship between ends and scarce means that have alternative uses.” Economic theory is the investigation of the causes of prices, wage rates, rents, interest rates, business cycles, etc.

It must be noted that Economics is not a philosophical concept; as a specialty science it is a successor of philosophy. But like any science, the economist who does not adopt the proper fundamentals of philosophy is an economist bound to make mistakes–as the premises on which he is analyzing exchange are fundamentally incorrect. For example, the determinist economist would blunder spectacularly as an economist due to failing to understand a fundamental grasp of human action. Such an economist would be forecasting economic conditions under the pretense of an economy made up of automatons.
